Elections
Municipal elections in the City of Lebanon are held annually to elect city officials who serve and represent our community. Elections are held on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in April, with the next election scheduled for April 7, 2026.

The City of Lebanon will elect the following officials in the 2026 election:
- One Councilman Ward 1 – 2 Year Term
- One Councilman Ward 2 – 2 Year Term
- One Councilman Ward 3 – 2 Year Term
- One Councilman Ward 4 – 2 Year Term
Filing Information for Candidates
Candidates interested in running for these positions must file their candidacy at the Office of the City Clerk, located at City Hall, 401 South Jefferson, Lebanon, MO.

- Closed: December 31, 2025, 5:00 PM
During the holiday season, the City Clerk’s Office will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
Required Documentation:
At the time of filing, candidates must submit a notarized affidavit confirming no delinquency of local or state taxes. The affidavit form can be accessed here or picked up at the City Clerk’s Office. Candidates must submit the original affidavit to the Missouri Department of Revenue.
Municipal Offices and Qualifications
Mayor
- Term Length: 4 Years
- Qualifications:
- Must be at least 30 years old.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must have been a resident of the City of Lebanon for at least two years before the election (RSMo 77.230).
- Next Election: 2028
City Council
- Term Length: 2 Years
- Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must have been a resident of the City for at least one year and a resident of the respective Ward for at least six months before the election (RSMo 77.060).
Municipal Judge
- Term Length: 2 Years
- Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years old and under 75 years of age.
- Must be licensed to practice law (RSMo 479.020).
- Next Election: 2026
City Attorney
- Term Length: 2 Years
- Qualifications:
- Must meet the qualifications outlined in the City Code of Ordinances (Section 2-230) and be licensed to practice law in Missouri (RSMo 479.120).
