[ARCHIVED] Lebanon Police Department Launches New Officer Commendation and Complaint Program

The Lebanon Police Department is pleased to announce the launch of a new program aimed at strengthening community trust and enhancing transparency within the department. This program introduces a streamlined process for citizens to submit commendations for exemplary officer behavior and file complaints regarding perceived police misconduct.

To facilitate open communication, the LPD now offers both commendation and complaint forms. These forms are easily accessible to all community members, providing a direct channel for feedback on officer conduct.

Purpose of the Program

“Our new complaint and commendations process is intended to strengthen community trust in the LPD,” said Police Chief Jerry Harrison. “This program allows us to recognize and celebrate exemplary behavior and outstanding service by our officers, while also providing a formal mechanism for reporting and addressing any perceived misconduct. We are committed to transparency and accountability, and we believe this initiative will help us build a stronger, more positive relationship with the community we serve.”

Access to Forms

Citizens can access the forms through the LPD website by visiting lebanonmissouri.org. Once on the site, navigate to the Police Page and select “Submit a Commendation or Complaint” from the “How Do I” drop-down menu. This will direct users to the appropriate forms for either submitting complaints or commendations. Once the form is completed online, please email it to Angie Pollreisz at apollreisz@lebanonmo.org.

It is important to note that these forms are not intended for reporting crimes or criminal activity. For crime reports, citizens should call (417) 532-3131 for non-emergencies or dial 9-1-1 in case of an emergency.

Physical Availability of Forms

All LPD officers are required to provide a complaint form upon request to ensure accessibility for all community members. Forms are also available at the Lebanon Police Department.

The LPD also accepts complaints through multiple methods, including over the phone, in person at the police department, and anonymously, provided sufficient information is included to facilitate an investigation.

Harrison said he encourages all citizens to utilize this new program to share their experiences and help us maintain the highest standards of police conduct as well as to recognize the positive contributions Lebanon officers perform every day.

For more information, please visit the LPD website or contact the Lebanon Police Department directly.
