Code Administration
To schedule a home inspection, contact our Code Administration Department. You can reach Dana Hicks, our Office Support Assistant, via email at dhicks@lebanonmo.org or by phone at (417) 991-3905.

Code Administration
Units are inspected one time per year or when a vacancy occurs. The inspection fee is $10 for the first inspection and one follow-up inspection as long as the unit is vacant. If the unit is occupied with anything the inspection fee is $50 and each follow-up inspection is $50 and the owner must be present.
Please note that vacant units that require more than one follow up inspection will be assessed $30 for all future inspections.

A fence permit is required, contact the Code Administration Department for the permit. You may call the Code Administration at (417) 991-3911. You must call 1-800-dig-rite before digging. They will mark all utilities. Fences cannot be locked if the electric meter is at the rear of the house. Utility easements must be made accessible to the utility companies. PLEASE CONTACT BUILDING AND ZONING BEFORE CONSTRUCTING A FENCE. IT IS THE PROPERTY OWNERS RESPONSIBILITY TO MAKE SURE A PERMIT HAS BEEN OBTAINED.

You may call the Code Administration Director Christina Wagner (417) 991 3911 or the Code Administration Representative Dana Hicks at (417) 991-3912. You must call 1-800-dig-rite before digging. They will mark all utilities. Signs 20 feet and over in height require engineered plans. Signs under 20 feet will require that a sketch of the sign be submitted for approval. The sign must be located on the site plan of the property and submitted for approval of the location. PLEASE CONTACT BUILDING AND ZONING BEFORE CONSTRUCTING A SIGN. IT IS THE PROPERTY OWNERS RESPONSIBILITY TO MAKE SURE A PERMIT HAS BEEN OBTAINED.

Before digging, you must call 1-800-dig-rite to have all utilities marked. Set-backs must comply with City Ordinances:
- If the building is more than 10 feet from the house, it can be within 5 feet of the rear and side property lines, unless over an easement.
- For corner lots, set-backs vary by zone:
- RS-1 zone: 30 feet from the street
- RS-2 zone: 25 feet from the street

A pool permit is required, contact the Code Administration Department for the permit. You may call the Code Administration Director Christina Wagner (417) 991-3911 or a Code Administration representative at (417) 991-3912. You must call1-800-dig-rite before digging. They will mark all utilities. Pools require an enclosure if it contains water over 24 inches. Openings in the fence shall not permit the passage of a 4-inch diameter sphere. It shall be equipped with self-closing and self-latching gates. Lattice cannot be used for the enclosure. The top of the enclosure must be 48 inches above grade. If you want to use the pool structure as a barrier you must submit a written plan to the City for approval. Not all structures will be approved as the barrier. It must meet the Building Code. A copy can be obtained from the Code Administration office. PLEASE CONTACT BUILDING AND ZONING BEFORE CONSTRUCTING A POOL. IT IS THE PROPERTY OWNERS RESPONSIBILITY TO MAKE SURE A PERMIT HAS BEEN OBTAINED.

If you notice high grass, overgrown lots, accumulated trash, or any other code-related issues in your neighborhood, the best way to report it is through our website. Visit www.lebanonmissouri.org, and click on the "Report a Concern" button located on the homepage. From there, you can file a report and provide details about the issue. The Code Administration Department will review the report and take appropriate action, which may include sending a warning letter to the property owner.
Grass must be more than 12 inches high to be considered a nuisance. You can also report issues related to:
- Excessive grass and weeds
- Accumulated trash or debris
- Unsafe or abandoned structures
- Illegal dumping
- Inoperable vehicles on private property
