The Lebanon Police Department will have officers on patrol throughout Lebanon neighborhoods on Halloween night, conducting compliance checks and helping ensure a safe trick-or-treat experience for families.

“Our officers will be out and about all evening, checking for compliance and protecting our kids,” said Lt. Kacie Springer of the Lebanon Police Department. “It’s all about keeping the night safe.”

Officers will conduct compliance checks on registered sex offenders, who are required by Missouri law to remain inside their homes from 5:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., keep exterior lights turned off, and avoid all contact with trick-or-treaters.

The department encourages residents to stay alert and look out for one another.

“Parents, drivers, and neighbors — a little extra awareness goes a long way,” Lt. Springer said. “And if you see anything concerning, give us a call. We'll be out there.”

Residents can check the Missouri State Highway Patrol Sex Offender Registry to view registered offenders in their area.

For more information or to report a concern on Halloween night, contact the Lebanon Police Department at (417) 532-3131.
