City Council Recap - July 25th Regular Meeting

Here is a summary of major actions taken during the July 25th regular meeting of the Lebanon City Council:

✅ Council approved Bill 6327 authorizing a second round of street overlay projects for the new fiscal year. 

What does this mean for the community? 

Based on community feedback, council has worked to make street improvements a priority. Based on this feedback, an additional 21,081 linear feet of road improvements have been authorized. The project includes all or part of Benage Drive, Windsor Drive, Laclede Street, Crestline Street, Cedar Crest Drive, Frank Avenue, Booten Avenue, Fairfax Drive, Olson Street, Babb Drive, Crescent Drive, Millcreek Road, Millcreek Court, Albert Street, Barlow Street, Marvin Avenue, Mizer Street, Dickinson Street, Ivey Lane and Beck Lane.

✅ Council approved several bills authorizing the purchase of utility equipment including materials for new housing subdivisions.

What does this mean for the community?

This authorization will ensure public works has the needed supplies to support current  infrastructure projects and make sure stock is maintained for future projects. 

✅ In other actions, Mayor Jared Carr presented Kathy Sloan with the Mayor’s Silver Leaf Award for Special Service. Sloan will be retiring from the City of Lebanon at the end of this week with more than 25 years of service. Council also approved the appointment of Holly Goforth to an unexpired term on the Lebanon Park Board ending in June 2024; Jenni Randall to a three-year term on the Library Board ending in June 2025 and Chuck Jordan, Rod Reid, Jim Rogers and Liz Mitchko to two-year terms on the Lebanon Tourism and Marketing Advisory Committee.
