I want to thank our residents for voting to approve the Lebanon Parks and Storm Water Tax Proposal. Thanks to your vote, we will be able to roll back the current parks property tax and replace it with a half-cent sales tax that will not only allow us to improve and expand our park system but will also provide our public works department with dedicated funding for storm water drainage improvements.
What can you as citizens of Lebanon expect now that the proposal has passed?
- Your property taxes will be reduced.
- The Lebanon Park Board, in cooperation with the City Council, can begin the process of implementing some of the expansions called for in the Lebanon Parks Master Plan. These improvements will include, at a minimum, a new park on the southwest side of Lebanon and a new park on the southeast side of Lebanon, expanded walkability and bicycle trails in the city and improvements at the Boswell Aquatic Center.
- A new, dedicated fund for storm water drainage improvements. This funding stream has been a need for many years in Lebanon. In the past these projects have been funded primarily by street fund dollars. With this dedicated funding we can invest more into our roadways while improving drainage in all areas of Lebanon.
Thank you for your vote of confidence as we continue working to move Lebanon Forward for Success.
