City Council Recap - Aug. 24 meeting

Here are some highlights from the Aug. 24 Lebanon City Council meeting:

-- Council approved Bill No. 5029 accepting the final plat of Lazy Lee’s Subdivision.

What does this mean for you?

The passage of this bill will make it possible for a downtown business owner to combine two lots and construct a new and improved retail location. New business provides new opportunities for our residents and improved life downtown.


-- Council passed Bill No. 5030 authorizing Cox Health to provide Hazardous Materials Physicals for the fire department. 

What does this mean for our community?

This means fire fighters will receive enhanced physicals to help them stay healthier as they serve our city.

-- Council passed Bill No. 5031 authorizing the purchase of an LP15 Cardiac Monitor for the fire department.

What does this mean for you? 

This purchase will make sure the fire department has the equipment necessary when responding to medical calls in Lebanon. Having this equipment helps our fire fighter EMTs make more informed decisions and can potentially save lives in our community. 

-- Council passed bill No. 5032 authorizing the purchase of 18 structural firefighting helmets and 15 helmet mounted lights. 

What does this mean for you?

Our firefighters will have more of the equipment they need to protect our community. The old equipment this new equipment replaces will be surplused. 

-- Council passed Bill No. 5033 authorizing the purchase of galvanized steel poles for the electric department.  

What does this mean for you?

This means our electric department will be able to continue modernizing the electric grid, improving customers services, and limiting the number of power outages. 

-- Council passed bill No. 5034 authorizing the reconstruction of portions of Perry and Beckett streets.

What does this mean for you?

Customers who use these roadways will have a better driving experience.
