Police chief announces retirement
Lebanon Police Chief Randy Halstead has announced his retirement effective Sept. 2.
Halstead, who has served as Chief of Police for the last eight years, began his career in law enforcement 38 years ago with the Lebanon Police Department.
"I rose through the ranks and was blessed to work with some of the most dedicated officers both past and present," Halstead said. "I have genuinely enjoyed my employment as Chief of Police, and it has been an honor and privilege to have served this great community."
Michael Schumacher, City Administrator, said Halstead would be missed.
"Chief Halstead has served the City of Lebanon honorably for many years,” Schumacher said. “We appreciate his dedication to the Lebanon Police Department and our community. We wish Chief Halstead the best as he moves on to this new phase in his life."
The search for Halstead's successor will begin immediately.
