It's officially summer!! Woo hoo!! You're probably still in that honeymoon phase of the kids being home from school and not having that morning hustle everyday but when you hear that first "Moooom, I'm bored" keep these upcoming events and activities in mind!
The Lebanon-Laclede County Library Summer Reading Program has several free, fun, childrens events planned for the summer. Each Thursday they hold Storytime at 10AM. During storytime, they sing songs, read several books and make a craft. This program is geared towards 2-6 year old's. Each week they will have a different theme related to the 2018 Summer Reading Program theme, "Libraries Rock!" The program also offers Lego Club following Storytime on Thursdays at 2 PM and on Wednesday's at 10 AM the Kid's Garden Club meets on the patio area with Rock Painting to follow at 2 PM. This Saturday, June the 2nd starting at 9am running till Noon is Kid's Fishing at Nelson Park. Come out for free fishing, hotdogs provided by Arvest Bank, the YMCA Bounce House and the first 150 children will receive a free T-shirt.
If you're ready to cool off after all that fishing, come to Boswell Aquatic Center and help ring in opening day! Saturday, June 2nd from Noon-6 PM the community is welcome to come swim for free at Boswell Aquatic Center sponsored by First Baptist Church of Lebanon! Free admission, hotdogs, hamburgers and family fun are just a few of the things scheduled that you won't want to miss!
Don't forget about the Lebanon Farmer's Market open Saturdays 8 AM- 1 PM and Wednesday's 2-4 PM for local baked goods, jams, plants, and much, much more!
The 4-H Livestock Showmanship Clinic takes place at the Laclede County Ag Arena this Saturday as well. For information on that event, you can contact Sam Lower at 417-532-7126.
And tonight at the Cowan Civic Center enjoy music from Truelove Ministries. Doors open at 6 PM with the show beginning at 7 PM.
