Trip Around the Ozarks for October 21, 2015

Hello Listeners;

On Thursday City of Lebanon officials along with the Lebanon Parks Board of Directors and the Route 66 Park ad hoc committee will host a short groundbreaking ceremony for the new Route 66 themed addition to Boswell Park. The ceremony will begin at 10 in Boswell Park. Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Darrell Pollock will guide brief remarks made by Lebanon Mayor Lyle Anderson, Lebanon Parks Board President James Crawford, and Route 66 Park ad hoc committee Chairperson Bill Wheeler. This ceremony is open to the public and all are encouraged to attend.

On October 22nd the Lebanon Concert Association presents Four Freshman Concert. Singing with a harmony uniquely their own The Four Freshmen have enamored listeners world-wide for 65 years, while gaining recognition as one of the most influential vocal groups of all time. Their tight-knit sound inspired The Beach Boys, The Mamas and the Papas, Frankie Valli, and Manhattan Transfer. Info: lebanonmoconcertassociation.com

Also on Thursday October 22nd the City of Lebanon will be having their Annual Fall Blood Drive with the American Red Cross. It will be at the Mills Center from 11AM-4PM. To schedule an appointment go to redcrossblood.org and enter sponsor code COL.

Friday October 23rd we welcome the World Famous old fashioned singing sensation Chuck Wagon Gang at 7PM in the Mills Center. Enjoy an evening of songs you grew up with. Seating is limited so come early. Doors will open at 6PM and admission is $10 at the door.

On Saturday, October 24 come on out to the Mills Center for the 4th Annual Route 66 Rotary Run of Lebanon. Registration is from 7:30 to 8:30 and the race will begin at 9 AM. This is a charity race benefiting koats for kids in Laclede County. This is a 5K run or a 1 mile fun walk with metals will be given to the overall male and female and top three in each division. Also on Saturday, October 24 in the Cowan Civic Center Exhibition Hall from 10 to 5 Bays Chiropractic along with Make-A-Wish presents the 2nd Annual Camo and Curls. The event will feature hunting and fishing vendor demos, beauty hair and makeup demos Christmas decor and shopping, clothing, jewelry, home supplies and health and wellness vendors. There will be something for everyone. The cost for admission is free. During Camo and Curls there will be up Bake a Wish bake-off presented by Heavenly Scent Bakery and Catering and Make-A-Wish. On October 26th and 27th OTC Lebanon Campus is hosting a Chili/Soup cookoff benefiting Community Cares. The event will be from 11AM-5PM both days and the cost is $1 per bowl. Invite your freinds, family, and coworkers to enjoy a delious bowl of chili for this great cause. Info: Dusty Childress childred@otc.edu

And lastly, on October 30th and 31st the first ever Lebanon Halloween Comic-Con presented by Freedom Comics. There will be a Magic FNM Tournament and Cosplay Contest. Contact Freedom Comics or stop by their shop for tickets or vendor/artist table info. Info: 417-532-0652
