In order to qualify as a member agency, your organization must be a 501©(3) not-for-profit organization (a copy of the letter substantiating your not-for-profit status is required). If your organization is approved as a member agency, all Community Cares funding must be used in Laclede County.  Also, a quarterly report will be required.  For more information or to receive an application form, please contact the Lebanon Area Foundation at 417-532-8868 or find the information on the web at www.lebanonareafoundation.org under “2016 Grant Application.”

Community Cares, established in 2000, has provided our community the ability to link resources with needs and offer hope for building a stronger and healthier community by tackling critical health and human service issues. Sixty-seven different programs have received grants since the program’s inception, with over $1,350,000 being invested back into the community (2000-2015).  The program is administered by the Lebanon Area Foundation and is funded from donations made by local businesses, organizations and caring individuals who choose to help meet the needs of people in our community.  The largest portion of contributions is received through a payroll deduction option offered through local employers.  Employees can request a dollar be designated out of their paycheck each pay period to Community Cares.  Seventeen local employers currently participate in the payroll deduction program.

Melinda Fries, LAF Administrator, encourages donors to “continue sending in your pledges as we wrap up the 2014-15 year and distribute the final 2015 grant payments.  Your dollars make a significant difference, helping to meet basic needs of our neighbors here in Laclede County.”
