Lebanon’s Public Works Department has the following activities, weather permitting, scheduled for the week of July 6th through July 10th. For the next several days, the City's Utilities will be in various locations assessing the infrastructure for damage due to the strain of recent severe weather. Several construction and maintenance activities scheduled for the previous week are rescheduled for this week, after crews complete their infrastructure assessments.
Street maintenance crews will be addressing cracks and potholes on streets in various locations throughout the city. Traffic control measures will be in place in those work areas. Street construction crews will be installing new sidewalk curb ramps at the intersections of Second and Adams and Second and Washington. Construction crews will continue excavation for a new street in the Lebanon Marketplace development area.
Water utility maintenance crews will finish projects, around town, with landscaping. Crews will complete their work at the Southdale Centre and relocate to the Mighty Oaks area where they will begin the installation of new water and sewer lines.
The water utility will also have a crew cleaning and videoing areas around Highway 5 South and Evergreen Road. The smoke testing crew will be handing out flyers to affected areas during the next few weeks. This procedure helps identify potential weaknesses or leakage of the storm and wastewater systems, which construction or maintenance crews can correct. The areas being smoked tested this season lie west of Highway 5 North and around Highway 64.
The electrical utility will have one crew working along the shoulders of East Fremont, and others working at the Lebanon Market Place and Southdale Centre. In addition, maintenance crews will be making repairs and LED conversions to streetlights around town.
