Trip Around the Ozarks for June 3, 2015

Hello Everyone!

Just a reminder the Lebanon Farmer's Market is Wednesdays from 2pm-6pm and Saturdays from 8am-1pm. Some of the best locally grown produce will be there. Conveniently located on Jefferson if you need to grab something for dinner on the way home. Info: Farmers Market Facebook

This Friday The Whisnants will be performing in concert at the Cowan Civic Center. This free concert is presented by Truelove Ministries and the Boswell family. The Truelove Quartet will also be performing. Doors open at 6pm and the concert begins at 7pm. Information: Ed Truelove at 417-718-8000.

There is a lot going on this Saturday!

For the Fishing Enthusiasts in the area:

Starting at 9AM at Nelson Park is the 13th Annual Kids' Fishing Free Day. There will be games, contests, prizes and food.

Starting Saturday and going through Sunday at Bennett Spring State Park the Conservation Federation of Missouri will be hosting their inaugural Trout Fest during Free Fishing Weekend. In partnership with Missouri State Parks, Missouri DNR and Missouri Department of Conservation there will be two days of Fishing, music, food and celebrating being outdoors. For the 5K Fun Walk/Run-er:

On Saturday at the Mall is the Make a Wish 5K for Jarrad "Deuce" Schomaker. Bays Chiropractic is hosting the event for this local Make-A-Wish child. Registration is $25 per person and starts at 7:30AM, the race starts at 8AM. Info: Facebook

There is also the Pathways Green Ribbon Run on Saturday meeting in Atchley Park. Run or Walk with them as they help SAVE LIVES … one stride at a time! The 5K run is chip-timed and the top 3 runners in each age division and the top male/female runners receive awards. Participants get a race t-shirt and SWAG bag! All proceeds benefit suicide awareness through Pathways Community Health. Registration starts at 6:45AM and the cost for the 5K is $25 per person. Info: Green Ribbon Run  

And last but certainly not least..

The Consider Me Crafty Craft Fair at the Cowan Civic Center from 9AM to 4PM. Come and see the talent of their crafters, enjoy good company, good food, and enter a raffle. A portion of the proceeds go to Breast Cancer Awareness. Concession provided by MO Route 66 Firefighters Association and kids fingerprinting provided by the Lebanon Police Department. June 15th and 16th is the Junior Police Academy. Kids can find out what it takes to "protect and serve". You do have to apply to attend but they try not to turn anybody down who wants to be in it.
