Trip Around the Ozarks for April 15, 2015

Hello Everyone!

For the Music Lovers out there Link Union will be returning to the Civic Center Thursday April 16th for a concert in the Theater, brought to you by the Lebanon Concert Association. Come join this local family of musicians as the take you on a journey through the decades, over the mountains, and across the sea, with their eclectic range of music. Concert starts at 7PM and tickets can be purchased at the door.

On Friday night (barring bad weather) Lebanon Midway Speedway is open! Head on out to the track to see racers go head to head and start the season for dirt track racing.

On Saturday the 18th the doors of the Civic Center open at 7AM for the Annual Central Bank Garage Sale. The sale goes until 1PM and is open and free to the public.

Also on Saturday is the 12th Annual Mercy Me Run raising funds for the Mercy Fitness Park. Fun for families, challenging for competitors. The Mercy Me Run offers something for all ages and all levels of competition, including a 5k or a 10k. Races will be professionally timed, and awards will be presented to winners by age group and gender. Refreshments will be provided. Registration the morning of the event is from 7-8:15AM and the race starts at Mercy Fitness Center at 8:30.

On Saturday April 25th is AGAPE Artisans Workshop which  is a faith-based workshop open to all artisans, writers, songwriters, musicians, crafters, sculptors, painters. Whatever your creative gift, you are welcome. The event is from 10-4 and admission is free but donations are accepted.

Earth Day Events for Saturday April 25:
  • The Street Side Cleanup event buses leave Boswell Park at 8AM to drop volunteers off at various street locations. Volunteers are very much appreciated.  
  • Earth Day Recycling Collection at Public Works will be from 10-1 and in addition to what is typically collected this year they will have a tire collection. Residents will be able to drop off their used tires.
  • The LPD will be doing a Prescription Drug Take Back in the City Hall Parking Lot from 10-1.
  • And don't forget to join us for the Lebanon Community Earth Day Street Fair (open to everyone) from noon until 4pm on Commercial Street between Madison & Jackson. Featuring live entertainment, performances by the School of Performing Arts, a hooping exhibition, arts & crafts, food and more. Booth Space rentals are $15 per booth. Applications can be picked up and dropped off at the Lebanon Area Chamber of Commerce.
And if that wasn't enough (barring and bad weather) join Lebanon I-44 Speedway for their opening night on April 25th. Gates open at 5PM and racing starts at 6:30.

A lot to do in the area already and it's only the beginning of Spring!

FYI: The next regularly scheduled City Council meeting will be Monday, May 11th in the Council Chambers at City Hall.
