Good Morning KJEL listeners, Bruce Conklin here to take you on your weekly Trip Around the Ozarks.
The countdown has begun, and there are only 15 days till Christmas and there are a few things left to do to get you into the holiday spirit:
The night of December 11th at First United Methodist Church there will be a community choir and band concert that is free and open to the public.
This Friday December 12th from 5-7 is the rescheduled date for Christmas in the Park. It was moved to this Friday due to the weather last week. There will be hay rides, face painting, storytelling, and tons of Christmas lights. All taking place in Atchley Park and is free to everyone.
On Saturday December 13th starting at 1pm will be Stoutland’s Christmas Parade. The Parade route will start at the school and proceed down main street.
Also on Saturday the 13th, the Lebanon School of Performing Arts will be holding a performance of the Nutcracker in the Civic Center Theatre. There will be a performance at 2 and at 6. Cost is 10.00 per person at the door. Come and enjoy this Lebanon Holiday Tradition.
On Christmas Day is the Yulefest Community Dinner at the Mills Center. This is a free community dinner for everyone served from noon - 2. They are also looking for volunteers for this event to drive, serve as waiters, set up and decorate. For more information please contact Judy at 417-288-1047.
Get ready to mark your calendars; here are some events to look forward to in the New Year:
On January 10th Championship bull riding returns to the Civic Center with the CBR Horizon Series – Show Me Shootout led by bull riding icon Tuff Hedeman and some of the best riders and bulls in the world.
On January 15th the Lebanon Concert Association presents Todd Oliver and Friends Concert. Todd Oliver & Friends is filled with his canine companions Irving and Lucy, a "real" cast of characters like Pops and Miss Lilly, and his outstanding Smiling Eyes Band. There's lots of audience participation, fun music and good clean comedy.
And finally;
Returning for a 2 night event starting Friday January 16th is Mad Dog Demolition Derby. Come see the metal crushing car-smashing Hero’s of the Mad Dog Derby Tour doing battle. You’ll see Mini car derby, Full-size Derby mayhem. It’s total destruction that you, your friends and family will race to attend!
