Lebanon’s newest showplace, the Kenneth E. Cowan Civic Center, opened in May 1998.

The multipurpose facility, named for Lebanon’s longtime mayor, is actually six connected buildings. Largest is the 46,000-square foot Exhibit Hall, which can house boat shows, rodeos, and any type of convention. The Exhibit Hall seats 4,000.

The Cowan Center has a 25-meter heated lap pool for year-round use. Adjacent to the pool is a hardwood gymnasium and a multipurpose sports room that can be used for walking, tennis, volleyball and similar activities. A wellness center overlooking the pool completes the sports facilities. Members can use a selection of workout equipment during the Cowan Center’s business hours.

A 675-seat theater hosts a number of performances throughout the year, as well as business seminars and church services. Meeting rooms off the grand foyer are available for small or large groups, for either business or family purposes. A commercial kitchen is available for use by caterers.
