Trip Around the Ozarks for January 11, 2017

Hello Friends;

January 13 & 14 we welcome back two nights of Mad Dog Demolition Derby at the Cowan Civic Center. Come see the metal crushing car-smashing heroes of the Mad Dog Derby Tour doing battle. It’s a weekend of total destruction that you, your friends and your family will race to attend. Info: motorheadevents.com

On January 20th and 21st is the I-44 Winter Shoot Out at the Civic Center. This is a Go-Kart race event that will be enjoyable for the whole family. On Friday night from 6-9PM will be open practice and this will be free and open to the public to attend. On Saturday racing begins at 11:30AM with the featured event starting at 6PM. Tickets for adults are $10, Kids (5-10) $5, and youngsters under 5 are free. Info: brennon3@hotmail.com

Thursday January 26th MOPS or Mothers of Pre-Schoolers will be having a Paddle Party Fundraiser from 6PM-9PM at the Mill Center. This is their quarterly fundraiser. Vendor applications are still being accepted but remember it is first come first serve. All the details for the event can be found on their Facebook Event Page

Starting off February Lebanon will host the Missouri Nationals Wrestling Tournament on the 4th and 5th at the Civic Center. Matches will begin both days at 9AM. We want to welcome all the competitors and wish them all the best of luck.

On Saturday February 11th The Lebanon Concert Association presents Southeast Alaskan Odyssey: Join the Alaska String Band for a Southeast Alaskan Odyssey. Hailing from Alaska's capital city of Juneau, the Zahasky family bring the best of Americana music to every performance. This family-friendly group presents American-roots music favorites that are showcased touching on additional genres such as swing, jazz, bluegrass, pop, Celtic and gospel.


Back again on February 25th the Annual "It's A Gas!" Swap Meet will be on February 11th from 8:00 am - Noon at the Cowan Civic Center. This swap meet will have everything Petroliana and offering all things associated with the gas and oil collector's hobby, including good advertising, nostalgia, coin op. and other related items. This is no auto parts swap. It is $5 at the door and if you're a collector or dealer in gas and oil collectibles you definitely need to get this event on your calendar. Info: itsagasswapmeet.com

January 6 & 7 National Antique Tractor Pull will be coming to the Civic Center for their winter pull. Join competitors and spectators from Missouri and surrounding states as they battle it out in the championship of “the world’s heaviest motorsport.” Info: missouripulling.com

On December 8th starting at 7PM stop by the Civic Center to see the extraordinarily talented 399th Army Band as they present "Holiday Memories". They need your help to bring back the magic at the North Pole. The Holiday Memory Bank is running low this year and it's going to take some serious holiday cheer to refill it in time for the holiday season! This is one production that you will not want to miss! Trip Around the Ozarks for November 23, 2016

This Saturday the 26th the Lebanon Concert Association presents New Odyssey Christmas Show: If you have not seen this show before, now is the time to do so. Three guys that play thirty instruments in a high energy show that is great fun and entertainment. Lots of Christmas favorites plus a helping of their regular show highlights. Show starts at 7PM in the Cowan Civic Center theater. Info: Calendar Info

On Friday December 2nd bring the kids to beautiful Atchley Park in Lebanon, Missouri to enjoy the town’s official kick-off to the holiday season. The park will be decorated with lights and displays to see and the kids will be able to join in storytelling, get their face painted or enjoy a hayride on a horse drawn buggy. This event is free and open to all those that would like to come. Everything there starts at 5:30PM. Info: Calendar Info 

On Saturday December 3rd is the Conway Christmas Parade and Chili Dinner. The theme of this year’s parade will be, ‘Christmas, Through the Eyes of a Child’.  The Chili Dinner will be at the Community Building at 10:00am, with the parade starting in downtown Conway at 1:00pm. Also on December 3th is the Miss Merrie Christmas Pageant in the Civic Center Theater. General admission on the night of the event will be $6 per person. Info: Wendy Reece 417-532-3293
